Date Night

So this is a little out of order...but Tim and I went on a date night while in Colorado. We started the night at the historic Baldpate Inn. They have been featured in several magazines for the salad and soup buffet. The soups that night were Buffalo Stew and Brocoli Cheese. Both were really yummy. There was also two featured salads...a pistachio salad and jicama jalapeno. The pistachio was really good, but I didn't try the jicama. At the end of the meal they bring out a pie tray. They are also well known for their pie. So we shared a piece of cherry. Also very good!

 The Baldpate Inn has the worlds largest key collection.  There were keys everywhere in this room and they were from all over the place.

 After eating dinner we went to downtown Estes Park for a little shopping.  After the hike earlier that day, my body was tired.  Tim kept making fun of me, but I really was hurting! Here is a picture of all the shops in the town.  They line both sides of the street! (No we didn't take this picture... I found it online!)

 So we went to the movies.  This theater is 98 years old.  It was so neat to see how it has changed over the years.  We learned that the city will not allow neon lights anymore, so they had to take theirs down.  This tower has also been hit by lightening...more than once!
We sat right behind a couple who had their first date in the theater in 1964.  They were so cute.  The couple was double dating with another couple.  They were laughing and joking...I hope Tim and I can be that fun after 40+ years together!

 This is the movie we saw!  It was a really good movie, and the only one they had at the time.  We got our tickets and two drinks for $20.  We could not believe it!

It was such a fun date, but man my body hurt at the end of the night!
