Our new bumbo

I got a Bumbo seat yesterday. It is a seat that helps babies sit up before they can actually sit on their own. I think I may need to get another one. They are just too cute sitting in it. They look so big and grown up!

We had a great night last night. They both slept all night. I got up at 6 to check on them because Glade didn't do his usual 4 am fussing! They were both sleeping so peacefully. We all slept until about 8:30 this morning. I am refreshed and relaxed.

Look at my sweet babies in their bumbo seat...

Sweet little girl

I mentioned yesterday about how Addison has started to suck her thumb. She has been doing it quite a bit now. She sucks her thumb with her left hand and then puts her right hand on her head. It's the cutest thing...take a look!

What a morning

What a morning we have had today! It started off just as every normal day does. I got Glade up and dressed and began feeding him. He was almost done when he burped a little bit. Then the flood gates opened. I think he spit up every last drop of the bottle he had just taken. Glade and I both had to change clothes. I got all the mess cleaned up and then moved on to Addison. Again, pretty typical with her as well. I got her up, got her dressed and began feeding her. Sometimes she uses this morning bottle as opportunity to *do her business*. Well, she did some business this morning! Let's just say she needed a change of clothes too! The clothes she had on got an instant washing...hopefully it all comes out!

Our little Addison has discovered her thumb! Last night she started sucking her thumb. She has been sucking on her fingers, but she finally got the thumb in. Tim always goes in to look at them before he leaves for work in the morning. He came in this morning and told me to come look at Addison. What a saw was the most adorable little baby girl sucking away on her thumb, sleeping like a little angel! I have pictures and will post them later!

Have a great day,
Leah

Just relaxin' at home

We haven't been up to much. Just playing around at home. Glade and Addison have eaten cereal from a spoon twice this week. Addison did great both times. Glade didn't care for it the first time, but did really good this morning with it. I am not feeding them every day, just a few times a week. I am trying to get them used to it so that once they eat it everyday it won't take quite so long to feed them. I will be teaching a 4 year old class at Saturn Road's Preschool, so beginning in September we will have to get up early on Tuesdays and Thursdays.:( I could get used to sleeping in everyday. Hopefully as the kids get older they will want to sleep later than 7:00!

In this picture, Glade is not very happy. Look at that face he was giving his daddy! So pitiful!

Glade just finished eating cereal. He had it on his head, hands and everything inbetween. Addison did not get messy. She would spit it out onto her bib and then suck it off!
Look at our sweet baby girl! She has the cutest smile. This picture doesn't do it justice.
Here is a picture that shows Addison's bright smile. She grins from ear to ear!
Look at that big boy sitting up...with the help of some boppy pillows of course!

That's all for now. I have tons more pictures to put on here, just not enough time!

Prayers for Carl!

As many of you know Tim's dad-Carl- has been in and out of the hospital since February. He is back in the hospital this week and is having a very rough time. He is having lots of seizures and hasn't really responded to anyone since Wednesday. Please pray for the doctors who are caring for him. Pray for our family and the decisions that are made regarding Carl's care. Pray for Carl, that he will have peace and comfort and find healing.

Thanks so much!

Cute Pictures and Rattlin' toes

Here are Glade and Addison today. They were sitting on our bed while I dried my hair. I couldn't resist the photo opportunity. Glade has turned into a cute little camera hog!
Here are Glade and Addison with Rattlin' Toes! Someone gave us these socks with rattles on them. They both just kept looking at them. I could tell they were trying to figure out how to get them.

Here is Addison tonight before her last feeding. I could hear her sucking on her fingers while I was feeding Glade. Before I got this picture she had two fingers up around her nose. But of course she moved them before I got the camera ready. This one is cute too, just not as cute as the other pose I missed. This is Glade peaking out of his blanket. Isn't he just adorable?
We haven't been doing much. I have been trying to declutter our house. I have inspirations to work on scrapbooks, but can't seem to find the time. I have also been meaning to sew some blankets and towels I have had for at least a month and can't seem to get to that either. I think I just need some motivation, whatever that might be!
Please pray for Tim's Dad. He has had a rough week. Seems like he takes two steps forward and five back.
Well, I'm going to try and finish a blanket for Addison. I finished Glade's last week. Then I'll go to bed.

Wedding Shower and Bath time!

We went to church today and all the people at the Christian Care Center were so excited to have us back. We were gone for two weeks. They all think Glade and Addison have grown so much. Carl read a scripture at both services today, he is working hard to create those new pathways in his brain.
Addison and I went to a wedding shower for a friend from Saturn Road. Everyone said Addison is such a cutie! She got passed around to lots of ladies. The bride made her giggle and then she got the hiccups. She gets hiccups every time she laughs, which makes us all laugh more!
While we were at the shower Glade got some quality time with daddy. I got home to find them both sleeping in our bed. It was so cute.
We give them a bath every night. They have outgrown the hammock in the tub we sit on the sink, so now we just sit them in the tub. Tonight was the second night without the hammock and they both have already picked up on it. Glade has learned to kick his feet and get splashes everywhere. Tim was bathing him and he kicked so good that Tim, the counter and everything on it got a bath as well. Addison doesn't splash, but she has learned to arch her back so that she slides down in the water so that only her head is above the water! I don't blame her, I like to have my whole body in the tub too.
They both were really tired tonight. Neither one of them could stay awake to finish their bottle. Hopefully they will still sleep all night. Keep you fingers crossed for us!
I am off to bed. Sweet Dreams!

Doctor Visit

We had our 4 month check up today. Glade and Addison are both doing great. Glade weighed in at 14 pounds 8 ounces and is 24 inches long. Addison weighs 12 pounds 4 ounces and is 22 inches long. They got shots today too, and they both did really well. Of course they cried, but once they settled down they were back to their smiling happy selfs!

Here we are before the shots!

Here we are after the shots. Who looks worse, the parents or the kids?

The night the lights went out

Last night was truly an adventure. Glade, Addison and I along with Grammy and Pappy came home from Austin. We got home just in time for a huge storm. This huge storm caused our power to go out. So, I called the number to report an outage. The nice lady on the phone said they would work on it and hopefully get it back on by 9:00 pm. It was then 5:30. So, we opened the windows and the screen door, lit some candles and waited. We decided to go enjoy the power and air at On the Border for dinner. We got home and...still no power. 9:00 came and went. At 10:30 I called again, this time a not so nice lady on the phone wouldn't tell me anything. Tim and I walked to end of the street to see if they were working on it. NO THEY WEREN'T! We prepared for what looked to be a long night. We got the babies to sleep by holding them in the car so they were cool. Once asleep, we put them in their beds. Addison, poor thing, was miserable. So at 2:30, Tim went and sat with her in the Tahoe. By that time it felt like it was 100 degrees in our house with no breeze at all. Everyone in the house was awake, frustrated that TXU couldn't get it fixed. Well, everyone but Glade. That little boy slept right through it. Until we all decided to go outside and sit in the car, with the air! We got both babies back to sleep, put the seat down and laid them on their blankets just in time for the power to come back on at about 4:00! So, we went back inside and now had two very awake babies! They got a bottle and were drowsy but neither one of them wanted to go to sleep. So Grammy took Addison, Pappy took Glade and Tim and I went to bed! We slept so good once the house cooled down to a nice frigid 74 degrees! We slept good until Scarlet, our dog, started barking. Tim looked out the window to see my dad outside with the dogs. Tim thought they were out there playing...so we went back to bed. Only to get up and hear that we had a water moccasin snake! Our two dogs had cornered it. Luckily the snake was in some wire fence and couldn't really get to the dogs or my story might include a trip to the vets office. The snake at last we know slithered under our storage building.
Needless to say we are all tired and ready for a calm and relaxing evening tonight!
Here they are in the Tahoe...wide awake at 3 in the morning!

Playing at Grammy and Pappy's House

Here we are playing with Pappy on his bed. Glade had the biggest smile and was talking away to his Pappy!

Glade and Addison have both discovered their hands and now have started to hold things.
Here they are playing with one of their toys!

We love bathtime!

Here is Glade after a bath. He used to scream when he got a bath. Now he loves it!

This is Addison after a bath. She doesn't get as thrilled about bath time as Glade, but it does calm her down in the evenings.

Our First Trip

Well, we made it on our first LONG car trip. On July 4 we drove to Wimberley, TX to visit my parents. Glade and Addison did really good. They only got fussy the last 30 minutes of the 4 hour trip.

Here we are in Pappy's chair!

Since we been here they have met their great grandparents and their great uncle Robert.

This is Grandaddy and Granny who is holding Addison.

Glade and Addison also had lots of time to smile and play with their cousins Dylan, Drew and McKenna. Before the 3 cousins got here, they were calling dibs on who got to hold Glade and Addison first! They sure love these babies!
We enjoyed lots of good food and fun with family the last few days. Tim had to go back home today so he could preach tomorrow. It was really hard for us to tell him bye. My mom and dad will bring me and the babies home on Wednesday. I hope Timmy can stand to be away from us that long!

Ready for the Fourth

Addison and Glade are ready for the Fourth of July. We got them matching outfits to show their patriotism. All the ladies at church thought they were so cute in their outfits.
We had a busy day today. Grandma and Grandpa came over after church for lunch. They stayed until Glade and Addison went down for their nap.
This week are going to Grammy and Pappy's house in Wimberley. They are so excited to get to see the babies again. Hopefully the traffic won't be too bad.
