St. Patty's Day Fun

We started the day hunting for gold.  The kids had counted their gold here.  We did this first so they would know what to do.

Glade found some gold!

Next we did some potato printing.  Addison loved this part.  Glade was done within one or two minutes.
Our shamrock potato stamp

Then we did some marble painting with green paint.  This was more Glade's speed!

Then we dug for gold in a tub of peas!
Can you find the gold?

We colored a shamrock and glued green things on it.

And for lunch we had "macinoni" and cheese...St. Patty's Style!

While the kids napped, I made some cupcakes. Rainbow cupcakes.  It was a pretty tedious process, but they turned out so cute.  You take a white cake mix, mix it up and divide it into 6 bowls.  Then you use food coloring to make the colors.  I used the color gel that I got at walmart by Wilton's.  It is so fun to play with this stuff.  That's how I got the macaroni so green!
Here are my bowls of colored cake batter.  YUM!

These are the finished cupcakes.  I am so happy with how bright and colorful they are.  They were yummy too.  The recipe said you could make 16 cupcakes, but I only did 12.  There wasn't enough batter to make the extra four...so maybe I ate a little cake batter...I couldn't help it!

We had a great day.  Now, I have to plan the next fun day.  Maybe in April.
