January is almost over and I have been such a bad blogger. I can explain. I have a good reason...well several good reasons.
In the month of January we have had 5 antibiotics, 3 ear drops, and one surgery. Whew. It has been a tough month. Addison got a second set of tubes and her tonsils out at the beginning of January. I was SO nervous about it. The first day she surprised me. We left the hospital and got her a milkshake and a cheeseburger. I had high hopes that things would continue that way...but they did not. After about 3 days she hit a wall and went down hill from there. I think in two weeks she slept all night once! Which means Tim and I slept all night ONCE! She was in a lot of pain, poor thing she was miserable. And we kept forcing her to drink. My parents came to stay with her while I went to work. I am so thankful they were able to be here it was such a big help!
Once we felt like Addison was on the mend she woke up with gunk draining from her ear. After several calls and a trip to the doctor she got her second ear drop and some antibiotics. Turns out she had strep in her ear. Huh, who knew you could get strep in your ear. I wish that was all. But no, it gets better! Glade got strep too. I would tell he was not feeling well but he kept saying he was fine. That is until he threw up all over the floor! I just knew he had strep too, so to the doctor we went. I went to because my throat was starting to hurt along with the rest of me. Glade got antibiotics, I got... a decongestant. Really, that is all? That was such a long day! Glade and I stayed home from Wacky Wednesday. I had a fever all day, but was determined not to miss any more preschool. I called the doctor again for me and thank goodness got an antibiotic! I think we are all on the mend- crossing my fingers, knocking on wood and saying prayers that we all stay well. Glade is scheduled for his tonsillectomy on Feb 16th. Then we start all over again...pray for us now please!
