Cripple Creek and Victor

On Wednesday of our trip we took a drive to the old mining towns of Cripple Creek and Victor.  When I was in high school I came on vacation with mom and dad and we spend the night in a hotel in Victor.  There's still not much there!  It was fun to just get out and drive and see the mountains.   We got to Cripple Creek and of course the kids had to potty.  So we went into a candy store to ask where a restroom was that didn't require us to walk through the smokey casinos.  The guy was nice and opened up his Soda Shop next door that is usually closed on Wednesdays.  Then he gave each of the kids a big cup of popcorn.  He was very friendly and very informative about the town.  He told us about the donkeys that still roam around through town.  We had a picnic in Cripple Creek and the kids were able to play at the park.  Then we drove to Victor and had a milkshake.  It was good, but really big!

An old gold mine.  They say they still get millions out of it each month.
