Fun at Grammy and Pappy's house

Last weekend we went to my parent's house to celebrate my dad's birthday. The kids had a great time even though it was cold. I am a slacker mom and didn't bring their jackets...so we made due until Grammy saved the day and got them a jacket.

I think this is the same tricycle my sister and I had growing up.

Happy 2009

So it's been a while since I have posted. We have been enjoying our days as a family. Tim had to weeks off just like we did. It was so nice to be able to spend time together and it was nice for me to get to go the gym without the kids. We had all of Tim's family over on New Year's Eve. We had a good time. The silly string and poppers were a big hit and are still in our yard. Two of Tim's nephews spent the night with us. After going to bed so late I was looking forward to sleep, but Glade and Addison had other plans. They got up on New Year's Day at 7:00. So we went to the donut shop while everyone else in the house got some sleep.
Here are Glade and Addison enjoying some donut holes and chocolate milk. After donuts we went to our neighbors house to let their dog out. This is Glade behind the screen door not wanting to leave. He was too busy playing with keys and "locking" the door.
Glade and Addison went to their first birthday party. They did really good considering it was during their nap time.

We had a cold rainy day yesterday. Here are some pictures of the icy weather.

Last night we watched the Buckeyes play football. Unfortunately, our team lost. But we had fun with friends anyway.
Glade really enjoyed his cheese dip so much, he put some in his hair for later.
Sweet Addison!

Fun at home

We have been having a lot of fun just lounging around the house. We have been playing basketball, cooking with the new kitchen and just enjoying having time off to be together as a family. I am so thankful that Tim gets two weeks off this time of year.

Tim and Glade relaxing on the couch. Glade got this football for Christmas and uses it as a pillow. There's the football again, he has had this ball or the basketball with him at all times since Christmas morning.

The other night we went to eat at On the Border, Glade had fun eating his Spaghetti O's. Can't you tell?

Addison loved the chips and salsa
Until the heat set in! She kept going back for more though

Merry Christmas...Schreiner Edition

Christmas morning we woke up and brought the kids downstairs to see what Santa had brought them. Here are some pictures to see how it went.

Merry Christmas...Sparks Edition

My family all came to our house the weekend before Christmas to celebrate together. It was so nice to have everyone come to us. I am so thankful we were able to get this house and have room for everyone. We had a great feast of tamales, enchiladas, fajitas and lots of yummy goodies. I am working on the my New Year's resolution right now...it won't start until after all the holidays because I just can't stop eating...it's all so good!

Here are some pictures of our time opening presents.

There must be some Christmas spirit in there afterall!

Addison enjoyed opening presents. She kept saying more, more!
Glade had fun too.

Guess what came to visit our yard...

It's been a while since I posted and there are several things to catch up on. First, I had a great birthday on Monday. Patty came over and watched the kids while I went and got some shopping done. Then, Tim took me to La Madeline for my birthday. It was yummy! This is where the night got interesting! We came home and pulled in the driveway. I got out and smelled something. The dogs were barking hysterically. I went to the backyard to get them to be quiet...our neighbors are not found of barking dogs. They are barking at something in the corner of the yard. I go back in to help Tim get the kids out of the car and he gets the flashlight to see if he can find what is causing our dogs to go nuts. It turns out our dogs had cornered a SKUNK! And that skunk has sprayed our backyard. It's not the smell you smell when you drive by a dead one on the road. It's 100 times worse. We called animal control, which of course was closed for the day. The message said to call police dispatch. Which was a waste of time. They wouldn't do anything. So we called our friend from church who lives down the street. He came over with his neighbors gun. (Tim's gun would have blown a hole in our fence and the police would most likely have paid us a visit.) Joey came over and he and Tim went on a skunk hunt. Joey shot him once. Then twice and thought he had missed and then the skunk fell over...dead! Thanks to Joey for saving the day. If only we could have gotten rid of the smell that easily. Our house smelled awful. We lit candles, simmered vinegar and cinnamon sticks and even baked coffee beans. It lasted for a few days. Our cars even smelled like skunk. Luckily the dogs did not get sprayed! Whew! That would have been a chore giving them a bath.
Then, on Tuesday, Glade pulled a stocking and it's holder down on his head. He has a nice cut and dent where the snowman's hat hit his head. Many of you know how much a head can bleed, and I was prepared for a lot, but it really wasn't that bad. He was so good to let me hold the icepack on his head to get the bleeding to stop. He snuggled with me for about 10 minutes and was ready to play again. We are definitely lucky it wasn't worse.
I was ready for a calm peaceful day after that.
Glade and Addison got to see Santa on Thursday at Preschool. I was in there when it was their turn and they both screamed. They wanted nothing to do with Santa! Tim and I plan to take them again and get their picture made together. Maybe they won't be scared if they are together.
Sorry there are no pictures today. I just have been too busy getting the house decorated and preschool curriculum done. There will be more soon, I promise!
